Integrated safety elements
Safety is key with OHI triplex pumps. Built in relief valves on most pumping unit designs protect the system from over-pressuring. No screens or coupling guard are required on integral units.
Lubrication systems & reduction gears
Our built-in lube pump system provides forced lubrication. A wide range of gear reductions which operate in an oil bath are standard.
Compact, not complex
These compact, space-saving pumps are the most compact high pressure triplex pumps available today. These pumps utilize a forced lube system and spring-loaded ball type valves with replaceable seats. Our pumps feature unobstructed hand-hole openings so plungers and liners are easily serviced. Plungers and liner assemblies are lap-fitted in lubricating applications and Kevlar packed for non lubricated applications Plunger and liner assemblies are interchangeable to meet every pressure and volume requirement.
Optional features
Depending upon your individual requirements, this triplex pump can be mounted in the horizontal position as an option. On the vertical pump design, a scavenger pump option can be included which returns any pump leakage back into the system. An electric motor can be integrally mounted as the prime mover, or with an engine drive, can be direct connected through a coupling to a gear reduced pinion shaft Choose your next triplex pump from three basic sizes (Size 2, Size 3 and Size 4), or ask us to modify one to suit your needs. Regardless of your pressure or volume requirements, there’s an OHI pump made for your job.

The 5,000 psi cylinder block on the standard Size 2 triplex accommodates nine different sizes of interchangeable plungers and liners. The 20,000 psi block is limited to lubricating fluid service only and handles six different plunger and liner sizes. The 30,000 psi version accommodates four sizes of interchangeable plungers and liners, and is comprised of three valve cylinders, rather than the forged cylinder block. Inlet and outlet connections are at the same end of the block. The integral motor types available are drip-proof, TEFC, or explosion-proof, and are 230/460 volts, 3-phase, 60 hertz, 1800 RPM. Also available are speed reduction gear ratios of 3.986 or 5.204.
The displacement figures below are in GPM and the pressures are in psi.

Modifications to the 5,000 psi cylinder block make this unit capable of handling straight water, high temperature fluids or other special services. It accommodates interchangeable plungers and liners of nine different sizes. The high volume version has six different sizes of plungers and liners and a maximum pressure rating of 2,000 psi. The 10,000 psi block accommodates four sizes of interchangeable plungers and liners. The 30,000 psi unit has three sizes of plunger and liner assemblies.
For separate drive units reduction gear rations of 3.079, 3.579, 4.330, 4.864, 5.941 and 8.815 are optional at no extra cost. The integral drive units include drip-proof, TEFC, or explosion-proof enclosures, and are 1800 RPM, 230/460 volt, 3-phase, 60 hertz.
The table below shows the pressure/displacement relationship provided by these units. Displacements are in GPM, pressures are in psi.
100 HP for pressures
up to 30,000 psi

Displacements are based on 100% volumetric efficiency. Stroke 4 inches

The 5,000 psi cylinder block on the standard Size 4 triplex accommodates eight different sizes of interchangeable plungers and liners. The 10,000 psi version accommodates three sizes of interchangeable plungers and liners, and is comprised of three valve cylinders, rather than the forged cylinder block. The 30,000 psi version, also with three valve cylinders, has four sizes of plungers.
Size 4 triplexes are available for separate drive either directly coupled to the prime mover or belt driven. For these units, single reduction gear rations available are 2.607, 3.407, 3.958, 4.318 or 4.850.
For integral motor drive units, the motor is flange mounted and may be either drip-proof, totally enclosed, or explosion-proof. Standard motors are 1800 RPM, 460 volt, 3-phase, 60 hertz.
Optional Size 4 units are available to handle fluid temperatures to 650 degrees F.
The selection table below indicates the pressure ratings in psi and displacementsin GPM of the various sizes of plungers and liners.

Fluid End Designs
Cryogenic
Liquid Nitrogen, Liquid Ethylene, Liquid Hydrogen, Liquid Carbon Dioxide
The plunger and liner assembly has a series of sealing elements including Teflon rings with stainless steel contracting rings. A jacketed stainless steel cylinder block allows immersion of the fluid end into the pumped fluid. The stainless valving is spring-loaded, disc-type and seats have tapered inserts. Applicable for most cryogenic fluids up to 6,000 psi. For higher pressures the design is similar to the 30,000 PSI version.
30,000 PSI
Oils, Water with Oil, Light Hydrocarbons, Water (to 15,000 psi)
Designed specifically for high pressure applications, the 30,000 PSI fluid end design features three stainless steel, disc-type valve cylinders – arranged in tandem – with external inlet and discharge manifolds. To eliminate potential stress problems, all parts of the stainless steel valve cylinder are circular and free from intersecting holes. Standard on all fluid ends, the plunger and liner assemblies are flange retained and interchangeable.
STANDARD
Oil, Water with Oil, Light Hydrocarbons, High Temperatures
A dynamic seal is provided by close clearance in this metal-to-metal plunger and liner design. For most applications up to 10,000 psi, the Standard design features spring loaded ball-type valving and tapered insert seats. The cylinder block is carbon steel forged. For fluids near ambient temperature, an “O” ring near the bottom of fit acts as a secondary seal.
WATER
Potable Water, Brackish Water, Semi-Corrosive Fluids, Process Fluids
Plunger and liner assemblies are self-adjusting for packing wear, and also easily installed and removed such that re-packing may be done on a bench. Designed for uses up to 5,000 psi, the stainless steel valving is spring loaded disc-type and seats are tapered inserts. The cylinder block is carbon steel for most applications. For higher pressures the design is similar to the 30,000 PSI version.
